Credit Control Assistant
Proper Music Distribution are recruiting for a Credit Control Assistant to join a small dedicated team in a busy accounts department working in the music industry.
- Reporting to the Head of Finance
- Chasing overdue invoices by telephone and email within certain timescales
- Distributing sales invoices and statements by email and post
- Processing, posting and allocating credit card receipts
- Setting up new Sales Ledger accounts in Sage
- Resolving customer queries in a timely manner
- Preparing month end Debtors report and stop list
- Other accounts duties as required
The ideal candidate would have experience of credit control and high volumes of deductions management. Knowledge of SAGE 200 would be advantageous. We are seeking a good communicator and team worker who is able to work on their own initiative, who is capable of working under pressure during busy periods.

Financial Controller – Dartford

Proper Music Distribution is the largest independently owned and operated distributor of music in the UK. The company delivers all music formats to the widest possible market in the UK and internationally. It provides a broad range of essential functions for record labels and artists including sales, distribution, storage and “label services”, which it performs to a renowned high standard.
We are now seeking a Financial Controller to act as the focal point for the management accounting function.
A summary of some of the duties this position entails:
- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
- Cashflow forecasting
- Reviewing quarterly royalty reports
- Manage year end procedures
- Liaise with external auditors
- Credit Control
- Support and backup for accounts team (6 employees)
- Review and sign off payment runs
- System administrator for Sage software
Ideally our successful candidate would have experience working in physical distribution and managing a team of employees with either an ACA or CIMA qualification. Good IT and Excel skills are essential and knowledge of Sage 200 would also be an advantage.

Team Leader – Warehouse
As a Team Leader, you’ll deliver inspiring, supportive leadership for the employees you manage. But at the same time constantly looking to over achieve SLA performance by continually managing individuals performance.
You’ll be directly responsible for managing a team of employees (full time and agency): meanwhile, you will report to the Assistant Manager. The quality of your leadership is key to success in this role: you’ll motivate and inspire your teams to do their best work, while planning schedules and activities that balance their needs with that of the business.
Another key aspect is the man management of your department which requires an ability to communicate with large teams and be strong enough to deal with issues both internally and externally.
