The Record Store of the Day campaign has relaunched today to continue highlighting the best independent record stores during lockdown 2. The campaign originally started back in March during the first lockdown and is being supported by AIM, BPI, ERA, and a host of UK Distributors including Proper.
Each day, the campaign will spotlight a different independent record store across the country on their social media accounts, you can stay up-to-date by following Record Store of the Day on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
The first Record Store of the Day is Resident in Brighton.
We are excited to announce that Record Store of the Day is back! In response to lockdown 2.0, we thought it only right to continue our campaign highlighting the best indie record stores around, starting with @residentmusic, Brighton#recordstoreoftheday pic.twitter.com/DoUKXnEws3

Pat Howe, our Head of Sales, said of the relaunched campaign “If there’s one thing we’ve learnt this year it’s the importance of retail to the national economy. It’s hard enough for chain and department stores to close the doors to their customers, but it is absolutely crippling for independent shops.
One of the few good things to come out of the situation is that many shops have been able to focus on developing their own online business and this initiative will hopefully help to make customers aware that they can buy from many of their local shops even when they are closed.
If you don’t live somewhere with a record shop this is your chance to adopt one from further afield and to give your trade to a small business that genuinely cares about the music and where you will find knowledge, advice and enthusiasm to help you treat yourself or your family and friends.
There are few better gifts to give at Christmas than a new album. Now’s your chance.”
