Figures accurate as of 1st of April 2017
In March 2018, Proper Music Distribution Ltd voluntarily took part in Gender Pay Gap Reporting. We at Proper are committed to providing a progressive and diverse workplace for our employees and chose to volunteer this information in the hope that we could highlight areas for potential improvement across the business. There are 19 nationalities at Proper, we have 51% men and 49% women and 4 of our 6 heads of department are women. We are immensely proud of our diverse workforce and we will continue to seek ways to improve these numbers into the future.

What is Proper Music Distribution Ltd doing to address the Gender Pay Gap?
Since April 2017 we have made significant changes to our payroll as the business grew (and continues to grow) into our new premises in Dartford. Most significantly, we raised the hourly rate of all employees in the lower 2 quartiles by at least 16%. Our eventual goal is to reduce any inequalities within our workplace and be a frontrunner for equality and diversity within the industry. This action alone should immediately address the mean and the median pay gaps for 2018 and beyond.
Our ongoing plan is to address and review our recruitment practices with each new hire and educate all staff of the importance of gender equality in all areas of the organisation. Where there is an imbalance, suggestions will be taken from employees at our forum meetings on how we can improve gender equality and other similar issues.
